Melanie + Cesar’s Wedding Video – Same Day Edit!
What a way to start out our 2014 wedding season!
Melanie had contacted me back in October of last year, and she was looking for a videographer for her wedding, which was only 3 months away! She had heard about me from her friend, Jennifer, who had attended Natalie and Ben’s wedding in September 2013.
Melanie loved our work, and she wanted to see if we would also do a same day edit for her wedding. We were more than happy to do that, and after a few more emails back and forth, she booked us for her wedding!
What made the booking process unique between Melanie and I was the fact that we did 100% everything through email. We never met in person, spoke on the phone, chatted on Facetime/Skype, or anything else. Email was the sole form of communication. This showed that Melanie had implicit trust in me and my team, all from a referral from her friend. This truly shows the power of a good referral.
During the day of her wedding, we showed up bright and early, ready and eager to create a fantastic same day edit for Melanie and Cesar. We started out at The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena, CA.
I want to point out something special about the Langham Huntington. Back in May 2011, I was actually a groomsman in a wedding at this hotel. I loved this property so much and I had hoped that I would shoot a wedding here one day. It was an amazing feeling to be able to shoot at the Langham Huntington, and now I can check another item off my bucket list!
As we walked into her bridal suite, we were greeted by her super excited bridesmaids. It was a whirlwind of activity, from hair and makeup, to cleaning the room to make everything look “photo-ready”. There was so much stuff going on that they actually blew out the power! After the hotel restored the power, the girls finished getting ready. It was time to head out to the Holy Redeemer Parish in Montrose, CA for their ceremony.
Since Melanie and Cesar didn’t do a first look before their Catholic ceremony, this was the first time that Cesar would see his beautiful bride. She looked amazing walking down the aisle in her stunning wedding gown.
As a side note, Melanie had hired The Youngrens as their photography team, and they were a pleasure to work with. They allowed us to get whatever shots we needed, and made sure that they weren’t blocking our angles. We had a lot of fun together! Erin and Jeff are true professionals, and we’d be more than happy to work with them anytime.
Once Melanie and Cesar officially became man and wife, we returned to the Langham Huntington for their reception. We spent some time taking care of family formals, and then we were able to spend the rest of the time shooting portraits of the newlyweds.
I also have to give a special mention to Carpe Diem Events. Alice and Slomique pulled off a beautiful wedding. They did all the coordination, design, and planning for this wedding. Everything went extremely smooth, and they made everything about the wedding look gorgeous!
After the dances and toasts, we were slated to show the same day edit. My team and I quickly set up the screen and projector, hooked into the audio system, and then pressed play!
